4K Reading

We had so much fun reading with kindergarten right before Thanksgiving break! 4th grade and kindergartners took turns reading to each other. The following are some blog entries created by the fourth graders sharing their experiences with reading to Kindergarten.

I loved reading with the kindergartens their so cute and once they get to know they relax Cate can read like they are a 3rd grader. I read with this little sweet girl named cate. I felt bad because she didn’t know me but she started to feel more relaxed.  Today was a great day and I made a new friend cate.
-Addisyn

In november 20 2015 my fourth grade class read to my sister’s class in kindergarden and I read to my sister (Jasmine). We read chicka chicka boom boom and ten apples up on top and more I use to read them when I was little. Me and my sister read at the same time for a little while. My opinion is it was really  fun and I had a great time with my sister.
-Anahi

I was with a boy named  Bryan   it was fun to read with him.First when I read with him I was slow but when he could read as fast as I was going which was about 50 words per a min I went a little  faster about 55 words per a min . Sometimes I would help him sound out a word like “ambulance” amb-u-lance . When we read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom we pratest the AB’C it was funny because when Bryan  was saying the AB’C  at  m  n  o  p he said p m o i n. Bryan was fun to read with and I can't wait to read with him again.
-Anna

Reading with the kingertaners was fun they were good readers I think  that I had the best one she was reading good with the book .Ten on The top By Dr.Seuss after I read then she read.
-Azaryah

Jackson was nice to read with.He was smart and fun.I also gave him high fives.I think he is ready for 1# grade. He is sort of syh.I also like the books we read.
-Beck

I LOVED IT!!!! It was really fun reading with the younglings and helping them succeed.
-Ben

At first I went with the “A-team” and worked with my brother and Jayden. Then Jayden went to another kid so I could be with my brother. We read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! he read most of it by himself and I helped him with the words he didn’t know. We also read a few poems, most of those he didn’t need help with. When Mrs. Verners’ class time was over I went to Ms. Mcbride’s class.
I joined Ben and Shepherd, they read most of the books in the box but we read a few poems and at the end we read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!
I felt like their teacher when I was reading to them most of the books I read when I was in kindergarten it was really fun. I would definitely do it agin. -Wilkes

Connor is an awesome reader. Believe me, he excelled my reading level when I was in kindergarten! He read the book,”Ten Apples Up On Top,” in under about a minute! It’s no wonder he is in his OWN gifted group! To other people who don’t know Connor, they’ll probably think that he is a regular kindergartener who reads like everybody else. But if you read with him and really get to know him, he reads like an angel. He didn’t get one word wrong! He also read almost every single book except for 2 that he probably would have read in 30 seconds. So as you can see: Connor is the best reader in the kindergarten!  -Christian

Lex is a  smart boy I hope to read to him again. He likes to listen he likes the pictures in the book.I can tell he loves books My favorite book from his bookbox was One Little Dinosaur. He very cool and fun. This is what I think about my reading buddy. -Ethan

I think he had a lot of enthusiasm for reading and he liked reading but it was probably hard for him to do it if he did not remember it. Not saying he can’t read but he needs work. He like to laughing and to tell jokes and they are “funny”  wink wink nudge nudge. -Hampton

Reading with kindergarten was a blast the boy I read with was fun these are the books I read I read ten alpple   a on top, im going for a walke, and chiken chiken boom boom.
I like because we had a blast readind with the kindergarten. -Jayden

I liked reading with my kindergartener because she looked like she liked to read with other people (like me Julianna) ,and not so much by herself. I like to read so we have something alike. She was also a very good. She felt like a very confident reader when she reads with me. She also has a very good taste of books she reads. -Julianna

When I was partnering up with Shuntoa I thought that she was going to be a bad reader but she read like a 2nd grader. I loved reading with her because she was not afraid to get the word wrong. loved feeling like I was their teacher. I did not dislike it at all.
-Kira

I loved the reading with the kindergarteners because it let me learn how good they can read.  It was really fun to hear how they read.  So I loved reading with the kindergarteners and my kindergardeners name was Griffin.
-Lily G.

I liked reading to the kindergarteners I hope that we get to do that again. It was fun to see what they knew. The books that we read, I had the same books at home. The girl that I read the books to was happy when I read the book head to toe.
-Lily L.

I liked reading with Lex because sometimes when I and Ethan said a word wrong he would correct us. He also had some of the books I had in kindergarten so it was fun to read them again. It’s super funny when Lex would laugh at something in the picture like in chicka, chicka, boom, boom when j and k were crying.
-Luke

The kindergen kid that I had he was good  reader and I like his reading style. So I was reading at allmost a kindergen level. And was reading pomble on a 2nd garde level. So he want to read befor me.And I pit the paste up and he said stop reading so fast and I said how fast am I raeding.
-Preston

Lily L's Beach Trip

Me and my family got to go to the beach! And my best friend Amelia and her little brother Jack.We all got to go to Fort Clinch and we got to see some people dressed up just like back then. It was so cool! Me and Amelia, Jack.L, and Jack.M got to hold a musket and one of the soldiers got in trouble for letting us hold it. Did you know that  the soldier’s name that they would have called him back then was private? And there were some canons!I so wish that all my best friends were there like Anna, Julianna, Ethan, Anahi, Amya, Kira, Preston, Wilkes, Hampton, Camya, Christian, Zivon, Jayden, Addisyn, Azaryah, and last but not least Mrs.Jenkins! We also got to see the jail.We got to sit on the bunkbeds that they would have slept on back then. There was a jail that was absolutely pitch black dark! They would have put the bad guys in there if they did not listened to there leader. Some of the waves there were so big that when they come to you they would make you go under the water. The current was so strong that if it pushed you down it would be really hard to get back up.And I got to surf on a real surfboard and I never wiped out!And that was my beach trip! THE END!

Pinterest Project by Lily G.

This is Lily G. and my mom and I are doing this art project where you paint a canvas with different colors and then let it dry. Then you put tape on it in a certain pattern and paint over it with any color that you haven’t used already. Note: Try not to get it under the tape. Last after you let it dry you pull the tape of slowly so you don’t rip the paint off. Hope you like the pictures.

We painted the canvas now we are putting the tape on.

This is progress!  We already painted over the tape.

Finished!!!  All we had to do is take the tape off.

Big thanks to Pinterest.  (If anyone wants to do it.)
